Social Media Volunteer

Love books, storytelling, and creating content that makes people stop scrolling?

​

Foster Book Club is looking for a Social Media Volunteer to help grow our online presence and connect more children in foster care with meaningful books. This volunteer will create engaging content for Instagram and Facebook, including post ideas, captions, and light visual direction (graphics can be created in Canva or similar tools).

​

You’ll help us:

​

  • Share impactful book recommendations

  • Highlight stories that center foster care experiences

  • Promote donation drives and community initiatives

  • Build a warm, engaging online community

 

This is a great role for someone who enjoys creative storytelling, understands social media trends, and wants to use their skills for a meaningful cause.

Community Outreach Volunteer

Want to help get books into the hands of kids who need them most?

​

Foster Book Club is seeking a Community Outreach Volunteer to help us build relationships with local organizations that support children in foster care. This person will identify and reach out to foster family agencies, nonprofits, and community groups to explore partnerships and book donation opportunities.

You’ll also play a key role in growing our impact by brainstorming and helping organize ways to collect books from the community (think: book drives, partnerships with local businesses, or creative campaigns).

 

You’ll help us:

  • Connect with foster family agencies and community organizations that support foster families

  • Coordinate and expand book collection and book donation efforts

 

This role is perfect for someone who is proactive, organized, and passionate about community-building.

Book Discovery and Author Outreach Volunteer

Passionate about children’s books and discovering stories that matter?

​

Foster Book Club is looking for a Book Discovery and Author Outreach Volunteer to help us grow a diverse and meaningful book list for children in foster care. This volunteer will research and identify books that reflect the experiences, emotions, and identities of kids in foster care.

 

In addition, this role includes reaching out to our book list authors for short “email interviews” that we can feature on our blog—helping us amplify voices and stories that deserve to be heard.

​

You’ll help us:

  • Curate and expand our Foster Book Club reading list

  • Identify books with foster care representation and emotional resonance

  • Connect with authors for blog features and interviews

 

This is a great fit for someone who loves reading, is detail-oriented, and is excited about uplifting authors and stories that make a difference.
