On Jan. 20, Foster Book Club dropped off books at Olive Crest to help support kids in foster care in San Diego.
Olive Crest states that they are an organization "dedicated to preventing child abuse by strengthening, equipping, and restoring children and families in crisis… One Life at a Time," They serve children in California, Nevada and Washington state.
This book donation drop-off with Olive Crest marks our fourth partnership with local foster family agencies or organizations that provide services for kids in foster care.
We are so excited to see how our community-driven project is making a difference right here in the community. Our mission is to get books with foster care representation into the hands of kids in foster care, and it's an honor to watch this mission come to fruition.

That said, we now have a "good" problem. With this last book donation drop-off, we are now out of books for kids ages zero to seven. This age range applies to most of the kids that our partners work with, so we would like to replenish books for readers up to seven years old.
Can you help rebuild our shelves?
We get book donations from individuals who want to help Foster Book Club achieve its mission. Some people submit a book donation because they have ties to foster care. Some want to get involved in the foster care community but don't know how. Others just like our mission and want to help.
No matter where you stand, we'd love your help rebuilding our shelves. Here's how:
Visit our Donate page. That will take you to our Amazon Wishlist.
Pick out a book (or two), and it will ship directly to Foster Book Club.
We will deliver a bundle of donated books to our partners, who will give them directly to kids in foster care.
So simple, but so impactful.
Our goal is to have new book donations ready to go out in March, which is National Reading Month.
Thank you in advance for helping us rebuild our shelves.
