We're on YouTube
As part of our Author and Reader Engagement program, we started a YouTube channel. Our goal is to include content that readers of the foster care community will find enjoyable and informative, such as:
interviews with authors who have written books for kids in foster care, which means books with characters in foster care or themes that resonate with the foster care community
storytime videos of books with foster care representation
interviews with representatives of the literacy and foster care communities
Our first YouTube video features Julia Cook, author of Foster Care: One Dog's Story of Change. Julia is an award-winning children's book author, inspirational speaker, and former school counselor, and we recently spotlighted her and her book for a Q&A interview blog post.
We hope that videos like this, and the ones that we'll add to our YouTube channel in the future, will be another great resource to learn about books for kids in foster care.
